Music atm...

Hellooooo!

Am I right in saying this year has passed so quickly, merely feels like yesterday since we were trudging around in the snow in January! Anyway I've been trying out a lot of new artists this month and I'd thought I'd share some of my favourites this month whether it be whole albums or just one song. Here we go then...

THE CAREFUL ONES

This month I've got back into the band the Careful Ones. i discovered them through the YouTuber Bertiebertg (LOVE his videos) as he featured one of their songs on some of his videos. Te two I love are Paper Knees and Revelry, I love their sound and for me it's a change from the kind of sound usually on my I-pod.

The video is Revelry but also features Bertiebertg's video as well so you get 2 for the price of one!

BASTILLE

Next up is Of The Night by Bastille. I really like Bastille this month I think they have such an amazing sound and Dan Smith is soo goodlooking. Highly recommend if you haven't checked them out yet do it.

THE FRAY

Next is The Fray. Yes I know they are very depressing but if I'm honest I actually like depressing music. I've recently got back into their music and I'm loving them. One song I've really loved is from their new album Scars and Stories is The Fighter, really sad but sweet song.

LADY GAGA

Lastly is one of Lady Gaga's new songs from her album ARTPOP. It's name I hear you say... Do what u want. I really love the combination of Gaga and R.Kelly's voices and the overall feel of the music is really good for me.

So there we go the music I've been loving at the moment but I know it'll change like next week and I'll be obsessed with a different genre. Might become a monthly thing I don't know.

Why the UK sucks.....

Hellooo
So today I fancied a rant. A rant about my home, the UK, where I have always lived. Specifically I live in England, some of these can be applied to just certain parts of the UK and some can be applied to the whole of the UK. Now let us begin....

The Weather- I'm sorry what the hell?! Average day in the UK= morning, horizontal rain straight into your face and ruining your hair for school, during school, beautiful sunshine dry all day not a hint of rain, home time and it's turned into bloody Antarctica. We basically have 4 seasons in 1 day. Also if you live elsewhere you can probably plan your outfit judging on the weather, here you have to pack a coat, gloves, scarf, umbrella and sunglasses just in case of any unexpected weather turns. We also have that horrible drizzle which is like pathetic rain but gets you absoloutley soaking. I hate that.

Chavs- This can probably be applied to the whole of the UK. Where I live, I'll be honest isn't the nicest area and has its well... misfits. These 'chavs' can typically be found wearing tracksuits, Nike airs and usuall have a cigarette hanging out their mouths. But it isn't the appearance that I hate, I can live with that. It's the behavior of these chavs. They feel the need to stare at anyone who does not wear a tracksuit and judge them, call out at people and call them awful things if they so dare look at them in such a way. I'm sorry I looked at you, but it's rather hard to ignore you when your shouting abuse at people.

Londoners- Now don't get me wrong I think London is a stunning and magnificent place but some, not all of the people in London (typically upper class to be brutally honest) are very inconsiderate to you. For example you HAVE to apologise to them if they bump into you and then judge as if your some kind of strange being from a different world. Also they're very well up-their-own-arse as some would say. I think some thnk that because they live/work in London that makes them superior to everyone who perhaps doesn't. Let me you this... it doesn't it just makes you a massive arse. Most Londoners are probably lovely people, it's just my experiences with being in London myself.

Stereotypes- Now you guys that think English people talk like the Queen... Oh how you wrong you are. The people who speak like that are most likely educated in private schools and grow up around a wealthy family, and if you haven't guessed that's not many people compared to the whole of England. Now my family are Scottish and not once have I heard them say 'hoch i'. Again very few speak like that still. I hate to burst the bubble but Northern Ireland is home to leprechauns, although I wish it was. And Wales, well they don't all speak this strange language called native WELSH and most can speak English. So world stop judging us! We sound extremely boring compared to what is centred in your mind.

Well that was fun. If I haven't put anyone reading of the UK then feel free to come on holiday here if you want to wander around old castles in the rain.Enjoy!

God I'm miserable... Peace love and pixie dust

Current Loves....

Helloooo

I'm sorry I should be posting more regularly but year 11 is taking its tole and I'm overloading on work at the moment so damn you school!! Today I thought I'd share with the world my current loves whether it be music, fashion, hair or whatever. Here we go!

I've really been loving wavy hair recently, if you don't know (which you probably don't) I have VERY thick hair which therefore means it can be very hard to style,to get my hair wavy I have to plait it in 2 french plaits before bed then they come out really pretty waves which I think look amazing when you have thick hair. These waves I have in some days look like beach waves which I think look so effortlessly amazing.

Also a TV programme I've been really liking is The Face on Sky Living. This show in a nutshell is basically 3 professional models (Naomi Campbell, Erin O'connor and Caroline Winburg) and their teams of trainee models competing for 1 to become the next face of Max Factor make up. This show has made me realise
1. I hate Naomi Campbell (she's so mean and nasty to people)
2. The 3 different teams have 3 different type of girl in them, Naomi- bitch Erin-weird Caroline-sweet
However the show has me hooked and I love it.

My food love this month (amongst many) are ginger snap biscuits. DAMN there sooo addictive. They're nice on their own but with milk kajfhsidnkonen.... If that doesn't give it away they taste amazing.

Nails now, and this year has been the year of nail painting for me, I absoloutley love painting my nails but now it's autumn I've been attempting to get into more autumnal shades and the two I've been loving are the Barry M gelly shine in Pomegranate and the painted lady collection in Lady Love. I'm sorry I don't have picture but none of my camera are charged up at the moment. Barry M one is a lovely raspberry deep pink almost red and the painted lady on is a beautiful white colour with pink undertones.

Lastly to play this post out are my 2 song favourites....
Katie Herzig- Lost and found
The Fray -All at once
Hope you enjoyed this little look into what I'm loving right now

Everyday make up me....

hellooooo

So after long deliberation I have decided to share what I wear make-up wise on a regular basis. You may notice all of these products you can get in the drugstore this is purely because I don't see the point in investing in an extremely expensive product when there are similar drugstore dupes of them out there. Also I will be rating all of the products out of 5 stars. Enjoy!!!

FACE & CHEEK
If you want to go for a full on foundation I am wearing this one at the moment which is the Rimmel match perfection on e, all I can say if your a teen like me only wear foundation if you really need it if you have baby skin don't cake on foundation!
If you want something with a lighter coverage but still good quality, a BB cream is for you, especially if  your a teen. The one I have is the maybelline dream fresh BB cream which I love, good coverage for what it is and feels really light on the skin.
Finally for concelaer there is only one for me and that is the collection lasting perfection concealer. Coverage is amazing and lasts really well even after a day of school....what else can I say?!
One of the oly blushers I use is this one by the brand L&B which I believe is by Sainsburys. Really natural 1st colour matte pale pink looks gorgeous on and isn't too bright love it. The bottom colour is a bronzy colour an I haven't used that as much maybe because it has a bit too much shimmer for my liking.
EYES & LIPS
I have 2 mascaras that I use on a regular basis. Left- Barbra Daly high impact mascara, I never though I'd like this but it is actually amazing, my lashes look long and voluminous as well so what can go wrong?! Right- Rimmel lash accelerator endless, I have spoken about this mascara before and I love it so much it gives and amazing length and definition and has a bit of volume in there a well. Love both of them loads!!!!
Left- ☆☆   Right- ☆
Finally the lip products these 2 have to be my standouts for natural everyday wear. Left- No7 high shine lip crayon in statement I absolutely adore this it has such a lovely look to it, it's a red shade with some shimmer running through but it is barely noticeable on the lips. It's also very long lasting and doesn't dry you lips out. My holy grail lip product right now. Right Rimmel apocolips in celestial, really pretty pink shade that can be blotted down until it is very natural, lasts all day and genuinely a good product.
Left- ☆  Right- ☆
So there you go my everyday make up look hope this helped.

Relieving stress....

Helloooo

So when I was thinking about to post I thought about some of the issues I face now I'm a moany, huffy teen and the first that came to mind was you guessed it... stress. I stress so much that if it burned calories I'd be a supermodel. So today I thought I'd share the things I do when I'm stressed and hopefully help of you lovelies who are freaking out.

Watch YouTube videos

YouTube is my savior right now if I am ever stressed or freaking out over something I just log in and watch some of my favourite YouTubers and it just calms me down and lets me forget about what happening. Advice- get a YouTube account and get subscribing!

Get stuff done early

This is actually advice for not becoming stressed and that is if you have work to do.... GET IT DONE. It's so much better than getting trouble and possibly getting bad grades because you didn't revise or get the work done. I, for one am terrible at getting things done because well to be honest I'm lazy.

Listen to music

For me music is the biggest release from stress I can think of, take yourself off to somewhere quiet and stick some headphones in and put your favourite tunes on. Personally I like to stick on some relaxing songs like...
Sigur Ros- hoppipola
Tom Odell- Can't Pretend
Swinging on a swing

Slightly weird but it really relaxes me and I'm not really sure why. If have a swing go and swing on that thing and listen to some tunes and if you don't have a swing get out and buy one they are so relaxing. Weird I know.

Have a good cry

sometimes all I need is good cry and I feel less stressed maybe because it's just a good way to relieve all those wound up emotions and for me crying is the best way whether you just need to take yourself away an have a good cry or whether it means a sad film to let it all go a cry can make you feel a lot better.

So there you have it the ways in which I personally calm myself down if I'm feeling like I'm about to explode. Hope this helped one or two people and showed them that everyone gets stressed some more than others.

How to.... slutty brownies

oooo cheeky! Yep my friend made these once and oh my lord they were were like a chocolatey paradise, I can't even describe how lovely they were.If you are a chocoholic like me then these things are your créme de la créme.

Serves: 16
what you will need to make the chocolatey heavens...

  • a box of cookie mix (I recommend a choc chip mix)
  • a box of brownie mix
  • 2 packs of double chocolate Oreos (normal Oreos are still as good just not as chocolatey)
  • oil
  • 2 eggs
1. preheat your oven to 350F, 180C, gas mark 4, also line a baking tray with grease proof paper.
2. follow the instructions given on your cookie mix and beat until it makes a gooey cookie mixture. TIP: add a little bit more oil and water just to make it more gloopy because you'll be cooking for longer than normal.
3. cover the bottom of the baking tray in the gloopy cookie mix try not to eat it all no matter how tasty it is.
4.Now make a layer of Oreos on top of the cookie mix. Bonus don't use broken ones, eat them as you go nom nom.
5. Same with the cookie dough mixture follow the box but don't add anything extra.
6. Once you've made it pour it all over your Oreos. My mouth is watering at this point and I'mam desperatly trying to hold back the urge to do this...
don't pretend that you don't want to do that.
7. Bake in your oven for 30 minutes. This is the time where you wish they were 1. out of the oven or 2. you aren't that bothered because your weird.
8. remove from oven with great excitement and leave to cool for a little while. While they are still warm cut them with a sharp knife into manageable chunks ,in my case they would probably be about 4 pieces of brownie.
The final step is to tuck in but I'm sure you all know howto eat. Hope I have satisfied some cravings and taught you a valuable life style. The art of slutty brownies.

September favourites....

Helloooooo

So we're into October and can I be the first to say how quickly this year has gone I mean it doesn't seem long since I was coming into year 10 and now I'm year 11. WAT. Anyway babbling aside let's press on with my September favourites...

BEAUTY

First up is my Revlon lip butter in the colour sorbet, I just wanted to see what the hype was and now I understand these things are so good. Really moisturising and good colour pay off. Revlon lip butter in Sorbet £7.99

Next up is this bad boy. Hands down the best conditioner I have ever used. Leaves my hair so soft and smooth, best treatment for dry hair I've used and smells fantastic! L'oreal ever riche (price unknown)
This is a product I never thought I'd like. I got a load of these products as a gift one year and I just got shoved away but as I have become more into makeup I've discovered I really like this, the colours are so pretty and it looks so nice on. L&B blush and bronzer duo (price unknown)
This I've had for many years and have got back into it AGAIN. I have a feeling this has been discontinued by the body shop ut there are really nice ones I know that are out there. Really moisturising and smells heavenly. Body shop body butter- raspberry about £7.99

technically isn't beauty but whatever I love it anyway. I bought this a while ago and I love it it looks so Michael Kors like and a lot of people have commented on the similarities.  Next £22
NON BEAUTY

MUSIC

I've been listening to this song a lot lately I LOVE LOVE the guitar and bass in the song and it's just so good!!!!

My favourite band this month has got to be Fall Out Boy. I've always loved Fall Out Boy but this month I have really been obsessed with them. They're just so amazingly talented and I'm desperate to see them live!!!

OTHER

My TV obsession this month is Toddlers and Tiaras, I know I shouldn't like stuff like this because they are really controversial but I can't help it's a beautiful combination between hilarity and shock.Highly recommend a watch.

Well there we go all my favourites of September!
Hope anyone reading has a lovely October

Bullies

Hellooooo

So as may notice by the title this post is about bullies. I not going to give it a witty, clever title because, well it doesn't deserve a good title. I, personally have never been bullied properly in my life but I have been downgraded by people before so I'm sorry if you think I shouldn't post about this because 'I don't know what it is like' but some of my friends do and they have given me an insight into what goes through their minds.

Firstly let's just get one thing straight, bullies... you are not cool, clever or funny for picking on a minority, you are selfish, evil and loathsome people that deserve to be punished. It's bullies that drive people to do awful things such as self harm or even feel that they'd rather die than be who they are. This is sick and wrong, that you should have so much power and influence in their life that they feel that they have to change themselves. Because they're different from you, have different tastes, look different, learn different, love different, live different. No one should be bullied because no one genuinely deserves to be bullied because of who they are. So what if they have a bad family, like the opposite sex, look a certain way that gives you no right to pick them out and target them, because last time I checked no one is perfect and if someone targeted you because of your insecurities or your lifestyle choices you wouldn't be nearly as cocky or as mean as you are now. Consider that bullies, what would you do if someone said that to you?

When I was younger (year 7- year 9) there was this one person (who I will obviously not name) who would pick on me. She was older than me and hated me for some bizarre reason and me being me I didn't defend myself, because I can't. I'm quite a weak person. This may have something to do with the fact I never grew up having to defend myself but still she made me think" why does she hate me?" "What have I done?" And I can bet you a lot of bullying victims feel the same way. Let me tell you right now. You don't deserve to be pushed around by someone, you are not alone, they're ARE people who will help, who will understand, who will know what you're going through. Never think you're alone because you're not.

Bullying needs to be tackled in schools, if you see someone, even if you think it might just be a joke being bullied. TELL SOMEONE. Because I can guarantee the victim won't want to report it so it's up to brave souls to help those who can't help themselves, to make sure they are not alone.

If anyone is reading this I hope this helps or encourages you to help someone
Stay Strong xox

Music and my life...

Helloooo!

So today I thought  I'd share what my music obsessions are right now and just a little bit about how bigger part music plays in my life. From when I was just a little music was a passion of mine. Not singing. Let's just get one thing straight I CANNOT sing, I literally sound like a cat being run over by a steamroller. Yeah that bad. I mean listening to music back when I was around 8 I went to my first concert; Meatloaf if you don't know who they are you should be ashamed of yourself. I loved and will always love Meatloaf, I think they are just... oh god they're so talented. As I got older I broke out of my comfort area which was mainly rock such as Meatloaf, AC/DC & The Darkness which I had started listening to because of my dad who is also a massive music addict.

Once I joined high school I was introduced to the modern charts, and slowly the charts started to dominate my music tastes. I mean I still had all my older tastes embedded into me, but my I-pod was now being dominated by the likes of JLS, Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta. It was only when I was around 13 that I realised wait I hate a lot of the songs in the charts and I'm the brainless idiot who's downloading them so I can be one of the 'cool' kids. When in actual fact I had a bunch of friends who loved similar music tastes to that of what I had before the chart pressure took hold. I began to discover new groups that were amazing and I listened to almost continuously for example...

  • Mumford and sons- heard of them before but never really got into them
  • 30 seconds to mars- Jared Leto you fine specimen
  • Skrillex- yep from Mumford and sons to Skrillex that how far I go
That's just to list a few. Music has played a huge part in my life, I could not live without it, it makes me happy when I'm sad, it makes me let go of everything going on around it lets me see a world beyond the one I'm living in. That sounds cheesy but it's completely true. Also for anyone out there who tries to call me restricted in my music tastes try scrolling don a few of my playlist you'll find something along the lines of alt-j, Skrillex, Katy Perry, Mumford & sons and Linkin Park to name a few. So don't tell me I have crap music tastes because I don't, your music taste can't be crap it's your own opinion I mean there are bands that are batter than others but don' go criticising other people's music tastes if you haven't experienced theirs first.

Concerts I've been to....

  • Meatloaf
  • The Wanted x2
  • The Proclaimers
  • Adele
  • Madonna
  • One direction
  • Sigur Ros
  • Black stone cherry
  • Scouting for girls

August Favourites...

Hellooooo

I do apologise for not blogging very much I have been holiday (whoop whoop) and the house we were in didn't have a good enough internet connection to upload pictures and stuff. But today I got back so i decided I'd post my monthly favourites.

Beauty Favourites . .

Barry M nail Gelly's- from left to right Prickly Pear, Greenberry & Blueberry
all £3.99
First up is the Barry M nail Gellys. These are something that god himself must have fashioned because quite frankly they are AMAZING! they go so creamy and are opaque colours as well so no putting on about 10 coats for these you'll need 2 at most. I think they have a really amazing colour range and for £3.99 they are well worth it!

Maybelline dream fresh BB cream shade-light around £6
Next in beauty is a BB cream. I went to Northern Ireland this year and we did a lot of walking and beach days so I needed a BB cream just to cover up on those days instead of wearing a foundation. I found this and guess what I really like it. I gives a really nice feel on the skin and it does have coverage in it. One thing I would say is the colour range of it isn't great but apart from that it's really good.

Thirdly and finally in my beauty favourites is something from a brand I never thought I'd like. It's brand Barbara Daly make-up which you can find at Tesco I think. Well this is their high impact mascara and let me tell you it does what it says on the tin, or tube in this case. It gives really good volume and length to my stubby eyelashes so it's perfect for me!

Other Favourites . . .

music wise I think it has to be between 2, the first being Ellie Goulding, I think I've had burn on replay for the past 2 weeks I love how unique her voice is and her style. Plus look at her.... she's gorgeous!

Number 2 in the music department would have to be Greg Laswell. Not particularly well known I think but I love his voice and his music is so relaxing to me. My dad listened to him and thought he was really depressing in his music but I love listening to saddish music, not really sure why though.

In the YouTube department I have been watching a lot of Essie button, she is a beauty blogger and actually has a blog of her own she's really big right now so I've been watching her constantly for the past month. Another beauty blogger is voussontbeauetbelle I've been watching her religiously this month, I think she's so naturally funny and her hair is to die for!!! Last YouTuber is someone only this month I really watched and that is Sawyer Hartman. I saw his channel a lot then watched a collab he did with Tyler Oakley so I started watching his videos and now I'm hooked, he is a phenomenal photographer and camera man and his Thru My Eyes videos are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

well there you have some of my August favourites hope if you're reading this you enjoyed it.
